Where is it valid?
A Brupass travel pass is valid:
on all De Lijn and TEC buses within the Brussels-Capital Region and the Brussels urban zone (zone 20). A list of De Lijn stops can be found below.
for second-class travel on all NMBS-SNCB trains within the Brussels-Capital Region
on the entire MIVB-STIB network (except for the Bourget-Brussels Airport section of lines 12 and 21)
Note: if you travel beyond the Brussels urban zone, buy a new ticket or Brupass XL ticket or validate for the entire journey (incl. the Brussels urban zone). An extension cannot be obtained on a Brupass.
A Brupass XL travel pass is valid:
on all De Lijn and TEC buses (except for services to and from the Brussels Airport-Zaventem stop) within the Brussels-Capital Region and the Brussels urban and suburban zone. A list of De Lijn stops and routes can be found below
for second-class travel on all NMBS-SNCB trains within the Brussels-Capital Region and in the suburban zone
on the entire MIVB-STIB network (except for the Bourget-Brussels Airport section of lines 12 and 21)
How do you use it?
Always validate your MOBIB card in order to travel correctly and validly:
Hold the card in front of the blue circle on the MOBIB scanner.
The scanner will turn green with a white tick when your card has been validated successfully.
The driver will be happy to help you if the scanner turns red.
Combining Brupass and Brupass XL tickets on the same MOBIB card is possible, but we don’t recommend it because you can’t indicate where you are travelling to when validating. It is therefore better to buy a second card (MOBIB basic) in such cases. You can then always validate the right ticket for your trip. Applicable principles when combining on the same MOBIB card.
